US projects
Can a US business work with a UK web designer?
Agree currency, communication and handover before the project starts.
The starting point
Yes. A remote website project can work well when the scope, communication, currency and ownership are clear. Charlie’s Web Design is a UK business offering fixed USD website packages for US customers.
Check the working relationship first
The useful question is whether the designer understands your business and can explain how the project will run. Ask to see relevant work, discuss the intended customer journey and identify who will make decisions. A supplier’s country alone does not tell you whether the service is a good fit.
I handle design and development personally. You review a private preview and provide consolidated feedback at agreed points. The portfolio distinguishes published projects, an independent product and fictional design concepts, so you can judge the work with its context.
Choose a fixed USD quote
The US build packages start at US$2,750 for Essentials, US$3,450 for Established and US$4,750 for Extended. These are fixed USD price lists rather than a currency conversion that changes each day. You can compare them on the USD pricing page.
Your written proposal confirms the currency, scope, payment stages and total payable. An enquiry does not place an order or take a payment. We agree the payment method before work begins; any charges from your bank or payment provider are separate unless the proposal says otherwise.
The supplier is PHK MEDIA LTD, registered in England and Wales. We do not claim to have a US office. The agreement identifies the supplier and sets out the terms for your project.
Plan around time zones
Agree meeting times that suit both parties rather than assuming every enquiry will receive an immediate live reply. State your time zone and availability in the brief. Written questions, annotated screenshots and a single feedback document let much of the work continue without a call.
We agree review dates before the build starts. If feedback will take several days because your team needs to approve content, include that in the plan. Hosting and care response targets are stated in UK working days; they are not a 24-hour help desk.
Write for your own customers
The site should use the spelling, currency, contact details and service information appropriate to your audience. Tell me whether you serve one area, several states or customers nationwide. Provide the exact business facts and any required professional or legal wording for your market.
Search pages should describe real services and places you actually cover. We can create useful regional information when the content warrants it. A long list of nearly identical city pages is not a substitute for a clear service offer.
Keep control after launch
- Register your domain in your business’s name.
- Agree who owns the hosting, email and third-party tool accounts.
- Confirm the files, content, access and licence information included in handover.
- Choose optional care based on the maintenance and edit allowance you need.
- Test contact and booking journeys with the real accounts before launch.
After final payment you receive the agreed bespoke files and content, access and a walkthrough. Third-party licences retain their own conditions. See the project process and terms before committing.
Start with the business and the scope
